There's a Tea for That... List of Easily Accessible Teas & What They Can Do

Tea is delicious. It's been around for centuries. It's still practiced in medicine today. It's widely available, and you can brew it at home. You can also use your OWN collected flowers and herbs (as long as they're not poisonous!) AND they are great hot, iced, blended, or infused in a smoothie. Here's some really easily accessible teas and why you should be drinking them!

Green Tea is a lover of all people. Some like it for the caffeine, while others may like it for weight loss! This tea is SO refreshing and totally universal. Use green tea in placement of coffee and to speed up your lagging metabolism! Green tea also highly supports brain function.

Chamomile Tea is extremely soothing and delicious. It's a little less "green" tasting than green or matcha tea, and is a favorite of all ages! While it's most commonly known to help induce a perfect nights sleep, chamomile tea is also great for soothing upset tummies. Did you know that chamomile tea bags freshly soaked in warm water make a great salve for wounds? It's also antibacterial - so, chug it when you have a cold.

Elderflower Tea might not be in your current tea stash, but it needs to be! This tea is high in antiviral fighting properties and has lots of vitamin C. What does that mean for you? It can greatly assist in combating the common flu while strengthening your immune system at the same time. The high antioxidant content in this tea is wonderful for protecting your body from oxidative stress! Oxidative stress can lead to chronic diseases; such as heart disease, cancer, and diabetes.

Peppermint Tea isn't just for a hot summer day! This one is my personal favorite. Peppermint tea is notorious for relieving mild to severe stomach problems, like irritable bowel syndrome, diarrhea, and constipation. It aids in digestion, boosts your immune system, and even reduces bad breath! Okay, what more can we ask for? Basically, peppermint tea is a body's superhero.

Ginger Tea is super similar to peppermint tea! This tea can help the absorption of nutrients in our food when eaten before or directly after a meal. Ginger tea is also a natural inflammatory aid, so you can use it to relieve muscle or joint problems. This might be an athletes savior! This tea also improves blood circulation and relieves menstrual discomfort. Yay!

Lemongrass Tea is also a yummy source of vitamins. If you're not too good at remembering your daily vitamin chews (or don't get enough nutrient-packed greens) you can just opt for this quick solution. Lemongrass tea contains vitamin A and C, folate, folic acid, magnesium, zinc, copper, iron, potassium, phosphorus, calcium, and manganese.

Black Tea is seriously SO common, but it's SO good for you. Also, this tea can be easily made mild, medium, or strong - it's easy to work with and tastes great with anything extra. Did you know most chai teas are made with black tea? Anyway, black tea is great for oral health and reduces plaque and yucky tongue bacteria. Black tea is also known for improving the health condition of your heart, has lots of antioxidants, and supports bone health. This is an awesome tea for children, too! (P.S., you can totally buy it at almost any major supermarket caffeine free!)

Oolong Tea, similar to black and green tea, is also a common tea with neat benefits. This one is widely used in diet programs and weight loss plans! Oolong tea (besides being fun to say) actually tells your body to burn fat! Also, your skin loves oolong tea, too... Bye-bye, acne and spots! This tea also controls diabetes and supports healthy bones.

White Tea is most common in people over the age of 40, but it's benefits are virtually ageless. The benefits of this tea include reduced risk of cancer and cardiovascular disorder. Also, this tea improves oral health just as good as the others. This is also one of the only teas that assists in protecting you from the harmful effects of UV light. This tea is definitely for vacationers and beachcombers!

Hibiscus Tea is light, sweet, and floral - a lady's favorite! Consuming hibiscus tea can help lower your cholesterol, fight the common cold, help rid of constipation, soothe your wrangling tummy, and avoid heart disease and nerve disease. Also, this tea is so delicious when it's with ice, lemon, and a consumed in a sun bathing chair!

Yerba Mate Tea might not sound appealing at first, however; this tea is constantly replaced for coffee! Don't like the taste of coffee? Does your coffee brew make you feel nauseas? Then Yerba Mate tea is your new best friend. Yerba Mate tea also doesn't shock your system with a caffeine feeling - it's a smooth transition into feeling boosted and overall energized. Athletes use this tea to enhance physical performance. This tea also enhances memory, mood, and alertness.

Rooibos Tea, or herbal tea, is an awesome cure for nagging headaches throughout your day. This tea also combats insomnia at night. It's a natural helper in fighting off eczema and asthma. If you're a smoker, this tea is packed with anti-aging benefits. Along with all those, this tea is also absolutely free of caffeine!
